John Normand

Funeral services for John "Bozo" Normand, age 54 of Simmesport, will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 beginning at 11am at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura with Fr. Martin Laird officiating. Visitation will be that morning from 8am until the time of service. Burial will commence in the St. Paul Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
John entered into eternal rest to be with our Lord and Savior on October 12, 2015 at his residence in Simmesport. John a lifelong resident of Avoyelles Parish was born on March 8, 1961 to Allen and Julia Matt Normand of Mansura. He was an avid outdoorsman whom loved to camp and fish. He was a truck driver and owner/operator of "John Normand Trucking" for many years. Anyone that knew John knew the love and passion he had for trucking.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Julia Matt Normand; sister, Janice Normand. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Alicia Counsil Normand; son, John Normand; daughter, Sonni Normand; son-in-law, Rafus Armster; and granddaughter, Krislynn Armster all of Simmesport; sisters, Melissa Normand of Alexandria, Marian Ponthier and Cindy Normand both of Mansura; brother, Marcus Cox of Baton Rouge and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Joshua Cazalot, Michael Ponthier, David Roy Jr., Dustin Roy, Rafus Armster, Marcus Cox; honorary pallbearer, John Normand and crossbearer, Krislynn Armster.
"Do not weep for me because I am gone. I am now in the arms of my Father. Hold strong to our memories and think of me often. Do not believe you are alone, for I will always be with you. Know that the love I had for each of you will take you beyond your grief. Hold strong to the good times, remember me as I was. My God had called me home, rejoice for me, I am now free."
The family of John "Bozo" Normand would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support during our time of need.
