Funeral services for Johnnie Mae Simon Jones of Hickory Hill will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 beginning at 11am at the Starlight Baptist Church in Hickory Hill with Rev. C. Hardy officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 beginning at 8am until 11am at the Starlight Baptist Church in Hickory. Burial will be held at the church cemetery in Hickory Hill. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
Johnnie Mae Simon Jones, age 83, passed away at the Oak Haven Nursing Home in Center Point on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was committed to God at an early age, attending Starlight Baptist Church and became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Marceline Milton Simon and her husband, Laudrick Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rev. Van Keith Jones Martha A of Hickory Hill, Clay Jones of Hessmer, and Vanetta Pate of Cottonport two sisters, June Davis of Mobile, AL and Mary Ford of Tennessee brother, Cephus Milton of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and extended family.
