Joseph Leonce Tate

Funeral Mass for Joseph Tate of Mansura will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Hessmerwith Rev. Kenneth Michiels officiating. Entombment will be at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Mausoleum.

Joseph Leonce Tate, age 83, passed away at the Rivière de Soleil Community Care Center on Friday, December 27, 2024. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Steven (Lisa) Tate, Tony (Theresa “Sha”) Tate, and Angela (Roland) Dauzat; siblings, Louella Knott, Bertha (John) Wilkes, and Joseph Nelson (Randy) Tate; and sister-in-law, Marie Tate. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Tate; parents, Simon & Yola Tate; grandchild, Sharon Vergara; siblings, Ira Tate, John Tate, Leroy Tate, Allen Tate, and Wilson Tate. 

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and resume at 8:00am until 10:30am on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura.
