Josephine Augustine

Funeral services for Josephine "Hester" Augustine of Mansura will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 beginning at 11am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura beginning at 8am until 10:30am. Rosary will be recited at 10am. Burial will follow service at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Hester Augustine, age 94, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ceasar Augustine, Sr. & Josephine Talley Augustine; husband, Thurston Jordan; daughter, Mary Ann Augustine; son, Samuel Lewis, Jr.; sister, Celestine Johnson; brother, Ceasar Augustine, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her seven grandchildren: Carol (James) Augustine Stevenson of Lafayette, Stephanie Augustine of Tyler, TX, Shon Augustine of Lafayette, Tressa (Greg) Lewis Hood, Princess (Steveland) Lewis Harris, Samuel Lewis, III & Tyler Augustine all of South Carolina; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
