Funeral services for Jules Lemon Edwards, Sr. of Hessmer will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 beginning at 12pm at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 beginning at 8am until 11:30am at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Burial & military honors will be held at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Hessmer. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Jules Lemon Edwards, Sr., age 61, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his home in Hessmer. Lemon was served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After serving, he worked with his father as a farmer. In his spare time, Lemon enjoyed hunting, fishing, and barbequing for family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clifton Edwards, Sr. & Mary Viola Hebert Edwards; sister, Yvette James, and brother, Joseph Clifton Edwards, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jules Edwards, Jr. of Hessmer and Lamar Edwards of Houston; mother of his children, Thelma Ann Edwards of Hessmer; sisters, Mary Gwyn Sampson of Marksville and Serada Fox of Cottonport; brothers, Joseph Ronald Edwards, Sr. of Baton Rouge and Jason John Edwards of Florida. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Laila Edwards & Xavier Edwards; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
