Funeral services for Jules Joseph Lacour, Jr. of Alexandria will take place at the St. Rita Catholic Church of Alexandria on Friday, February 1, 2013, beginning at 1:00pm with Father Craig Scott officiating. Visitation will also be held at the church that morning, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Burial services will commence at the St. Marys Assumption Catholic Cemetery 2 in Cottonport.Jay Lacour, age 76, passed away at the Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Mr. Lacour, a native of Marksville, was a member of the St. Rita Catholic Church and a Third Degree Knight of Columbus since 1964 and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus since 1986. Mr. Lacour received his Bachelors Degree from Northwestern State University and a MA in Management from Webster University. He was retired from the United States Air Force, after having served for 20 years at military installations in Texas, Kansas, Illinois, Florida, Newfoundland, North Africa, Germany, Korea, and Spain.He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules Louise Lacour, Sr. sisters, Gertrude Lacour Rachel Barnes brothers, Richard Dean Lacour J. R. Lacour. He is survived by his by his wife, Catherine Ducote Lacour twelve nieces nephews, numerous great nieces nephews and greatgreat nieces nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be the Juneau Hopewell nephews, and honorary pallbearers will include the Knights of Columbus members.Services and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
