Katherine Sue Cook, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023, at the age of 72 in Marksville, Louisiana. She was born on June 9, 1951, in Granite City, Madison County, Illinois, to her late parents William Floyd Parks and Muriel B. Ramirez Parks Russell.
Katy will be dearly missed by her son John Manuel Cook Jr. and her surviving family members including her brothers Vernon Russell Parks and Robert Henry Parks. She was preceded in death by her parents and her baby daughter Cook, and her siblings: a set of baby twins, Darrell Wayne Parks, Doris Faye Moore, Phyllis Leondra Robinson, Jacquoline Joan Taylor, Norma Jean Alexander, and William Floyd Parks Jr. Her former husbands: John Manuel Cook Sr. and William L. Stein.
Katherine attended Wilson School, Caseyville School, and Collinsville High School. She later worked with her son John at Walmart. In her free time “Bella”, her nickname, had these hobbies: karate, horror movies, music, cooking, bingo, playing cards, watching “Young and the Restless,” drive-in movies, and the Twilight series of movies.
She was of the Lutheran Faith. A celebration of Life service will be held in the spring of 2024 to remember Bella’s remarkable life.
Katy will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends. Her warm smile, kind heart, and loving nature will be deeply missed. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
