Keith Leo Chatelain

Keith Chatelain, age 65, passed away at Lafayette General Hospital on Monday, January 1^st, 2024.

He was born July 15^th, 1958, a native of Mansura and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

Keith is survived by his brother, Phillip P. Chatelain & sister-in-law, Roberta J. Daugherty Chatelain of Alexandria. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He enlisted in the US Army on February 7^th, 1978 as a Supply Specialist and was Honorably discharged on February 2^nd, 1981. Keith received a Good Conduct Medal while enlisted. After his military duty, he enjoyed working as a CNA at Rio Sol Nursing Home of Mansura.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin & Dolores Bordelon Chatelain; his infant sister, Elizabeth; grandparents, O.J. & Leontine Chatelain and Paul E. & Domelize Bordelon.

Visitation will begin on Friday, January 5^th, 2024 from 4:00pm until 7:30pm at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura with a holy rosary being recited at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 6^th, 2024 at 10:00am at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Blake Deshautelle officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Paul Cemetery of Mansura.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Keith’s name at St. Jude’s Children Hospital or a cancer charity of your choice.
