Funeral Mass for Kenneth Rasch of Cottonport will take place at the St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church of Cottonport on Monday, April 25th, 2022 beginning at 11:00am with Rev. John Wiltse officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Mary Catholic Garden Mausoleum.
A rosary will be recited at 10:40 in the church.
Kenneth Rasch, age 78, passed away in the loving arms of his wife at the Old Jefferson Community Care Center of Baton Rouge on Saturday, April 16th, 2022.
He attended the University of Southeastern Louisiana in Lafayette then was employed at Couvillion Lumber and later at Frank’s Lumberyard for more than 25 years. He purchased and ran Ken's Cassidy Oil Service Station in Cottonport from1990 until he retired. Kenneth served in the United States Army National Guard, was a longtime volunteer for the Cottonport Fire Department, and served as a Town Councilman for 3 years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church where he volunteered his time over the years for the church and the school.
He loved spending time with family and friends. He made it a priority to attend every event possible when children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were involved.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Diane Rasch of Cottonport; son, Jody Rasch (Kim) of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Wesley Rasch (Beth) and Calli Amoroso (Nick), both of Prairieville; his great-grandchildren, his hearts, Liam and Wyatt Rasch of Prairieville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oday and Dora Rasch; brothers, H.P. and Houston Rasch; and his brother-in-laws, Kepler and Jackie Ducote.
Visitation will begin at 8:30am on Monday, April 25th, 2022 at the Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport until time of service.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Marty Ducote, John Ducote, Andre Ducote, Wesley Rasch, Nick Amoroso, and Clay Juneau. Honorary pallbearers are: David Rasch, Eddie Bordelon, Wiley Moreau, Gerald Gauthier, Arnold Firmin and Andrew Caldecott.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Our Lady of the Lake, Clarity House Hospice, and Old Jefferson Community Center. Special thanks and love to David and Terry Rasch for their love and support during his stay in the hospital.
