Funeral services for Kermit Scallan of Plaucheville will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Plaucheville on Thursday, March 7, 2013 beginning at 10am with Father Louis Sklar officiating. Visitation will be held at the Escud Funeral Home of Moreauville on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from 5pm to 10pm and will resume at 9am Thursday morning at the church. Burial will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Mausoleum.
Kermit Scallan, age 76, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 3, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Scallan, parents Clinton Stella Scallan, one brother Marvin Scallan, and three sisters, Martha Gilbeau, Margaret Valois and Delores Mayeaux. He is survived by one son Eric Scallan wife Roxanne of Plaucheville two daughters, Lisa Lemoine husband Eddie of Plaucheville and Hope Clark husband Dale of Deville two brothers, Edmond Scallan Lynn Scallan both of Plaucheville two sisters, Alizadie Haydel of Laplace and Carolyn Scallan of Plaucheville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Holliann Delapasse of Erwinville, Lindiann Scallan, Gavin Lemoine, both of Plaucheville, Luke Clark Chase Clark, both of Deville one greatgrandchild, Cameron Delapasse of Erwinville three stepgrandchildren, Tonya Blake of Baton Rouge, Lacey Lemoine of Simmesport, Meagan Lemoine of Fifth Ward four stepgreatgrandchild, Cayden Davison of Plaucheville, Taylor Blake Brycen Blake both of Baton Rouge, and Jaylyn Barron of Fifthward. Pallbearers will include: Jeremy Bordelon, Mark Bordelon, Gavin Lemoine, Mark Valois, Spencer Scallan, Cayden Davison and Crossbearer Luke Clark.
