Krissey Couvillion Burnett

Funeral Mass for Krissey Burnett of Alexandria will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Plaucheville on Friday, December 29^th, 2023 beginning at 12:00pm with Rev. Martin Laird officiating. Burial will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Mausoleum.

Krissey, age 43, passed away at her home in Alexandria on Thursday, December 21^st 2023.

Krissey was a selfless person and would help anyone even if it was her last dollar. A loving mother to Gavin & Sinjon, beloved daughter to her parents, and loving sister to her three siblings, Krissey loved her family with more love than her heart and soul could ever hold.

She loved sports especially baseball which she played all through her middle & high school years at St. Joseph Catholic School in Plaucheville, where she graduated. She went onto college at LSU to pursue a career in agriculture which at the time was what she wanted to do, but becoming a mom ended up being something she wanted more.

Kasey & Krissey used to stand on their dad’s tailgate singing their hearts out like they were going to be the next big star. They enjoyed reenacting movies especially “Wizard of Oz” and couldn’t wait until it played on TV. When she was younger, she could be mischievous too. Krissey would hide her cigarettes in a gorilla that was a Christmas gift from her mom and dad, and she thought it was funny that mom never found them (sorry mom). She was daddy’s girl and was very close to him. We take comfort that Dad warmly welcomed her to Heaven for Christmas. Although she is gone, we know that she is not in pain anymore and that she will be watching over us in spirit until we meet again.  

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gavin Burnett & Sinjon Burnett; husband, Bobby Burnett; mother, Linda Couvillion; siblings, Korey Couvillion, Kasey Mayeux, and Kevin Couvillion. She is also survived by her godchildren, Halie Mayeux, Eli Dibble, and Kaden Butter; her best friends, Eric Melder and Julie Butter. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Michael Dibble, Ryan Mayeux, Eric Melder, Hunter Mayeux, Roy Jordan, Champion McNett, and Scott Burnett.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orise Couvillion.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, December 28^th, 2023 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Escude Funeral Home of Moreauville and will resume Friday morning at 8:00am.
