Lambert Coco, Sr.

Funeral services for Lambert Baldwin Coco, Sr. of Moreauville will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 beginning at 11am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Moreauville with Msgr. John Timmermans officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 beginning at 9am until 11am at the Escud Funeral Home in Moreauville. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Lambert Baldwin Coco, Sr., age 90, was born on November 5, 1923 and passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, one day after his 90th birthday, at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, LA. His wife of 66 years, Bertha Vel Gauthier Coco, followed him in death five hours later. He was also preceded in death by parents L. Willard and Eulalie Mayeux Coco, one sister Myrle Coco Hooper, and four brothers, Willard Coco, Jr. Marvin Coco, Malcolm Coco, and James Coco.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son Dr. Lambert Bert B. Coco, Jr. wife Dr. Sally Coco and their children Lindsay Coco Justin Jeffery and Stephanie Coco his daughter Suellen Kincaid Vanzant husband Tom Vanzant and their children Anne Elizabeth Yancey, Denise Yancey Gruidl Steve Gruidl and their children Jackson Baldwin, Catherine Elizabeth, and Claire Denise, and Tom Vanzant, III.

He was a graduate of Bordelonville High School and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The ultimate salesman, as a young man he was the number one International Harvester Tractor Salesman in the country. He and his brother, Malcolm, then owned Coco Brothers Drug Co. for 33 years. He was a kind, compassionate, honest man who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, father, Poppy and friend.

The family would like to thank: Lorraine Tee Cannon and Peter Lofton for years of love and caring that enabled Mimi and Daddy to remain at home for so long. They would also like to thank Pat and Jay Soldani and Diane Bordelon for their kind hearts and generous spirits.
