Larry Batiste

A memorial service for Larry Batiste will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 beginning at 12pm at St. James Methodist Church in Convent, Louisiana. Arrangements are under the direction of Escude Fuenral Home.
Larry Batiste, age 59, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 at his residence. Larry was born to the union of Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Celestine Davis Batiste. He was lovingly raised by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Estella Johnson Davis. Larry attended Central Elementary School and was very good friends with everyone in the Central and Convent area.
He loved to cook and learned to cook well. He loved his flowers and always had flowers growing wherever he lived.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence & Celestine Davis Batiste; siblings, Henry Batiste, Diane Batiste; grandparents, Arthur & Estella Johnson Davis, Henry & Virginia Batiste; uncles, Joseph Davis, Sr., Arthur Davis, Jr., Lawrence Davis, Sr., Clarence Davis, Henry Batiste, and Willie Batiste.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are his siblings, Mary Linda Batiste of LaPlace, Clarence (Liz) Batiste of Simmesport, Gilbert Batiste of Dallas, TX, Valentine (Gwen) Batiste of Roseville, CA, Joseph (Betty) Davis, Jr. of St. Rose; nieces and nephews, Angela, Kimberly, Louis, Antoinette, Christi, Kimani, Chantell, Danielle, and Lil Louis. Larry is also survived by his St. Rose family, Erika, Joseph, Rachelle and a host of relatives and friends from uptown New Orleans, Convent and Mansura.
