Lawrence Rabalais

Lawrence James Rabalais, Sr., 86, a native of Plaucheville, LA and resident of Central, LA, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Lawrence served and defended his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Road, Central, on Monday, April 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at Escude Funeral Home, Moreauville, LA on Tuesday, April 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with The Mass of Christian Burial following at 12 p.m. at Matar Dolorosa Catholic Church, Plaucheville, LA. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Nina Fontenot, Nannette Gauthier, Laurie Ducote, Lawrence Rabalais, Jr., and Jan Ponthier; grandchildren, Madeline Rabalais, and Brandon and Dustin Ponthier; great-granddaughter, Ella Ponthier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marlene Rabalais; second wife, Hortense Rabalais; daughter, Mary Rabalais; son-in-law Chris Fontenot; and six siblings.
