After a long battle with COPD, LeAndrae Cannon was called to rest Saturday August 04, 2018. His graveside services will be held at Inglewood Park Cemetery in California at 10am. LeAndrae Cannon was born in Gould, Arkansas on February 18, 1940 to his parents, Celestia (deceased) and Oscar Cannon (deceased World War II Veteran). He leaves behind a spouse, Geraldine Cannon of Hessmer, LA and sister, Patricia Wilson of Los Angeles, CA; children, Loren Cannon, LeAndrea Cannon II (deceased), Mark Elliot, & Tatiana; grandchildren, Kayla Cannon, Loren Cannon II, & Shanel Cannon; great-grandsons, Xavier Mendoza and Jacob Vargas.
Leandrae Cannon went to school at Colt Billiant Elementary at age 5, Cupples Middle School, and Summer High School in St. Louis, Missouri. At 15 years old LeAndrae decided to join the Army and moved to Los Angeles, California where he met Geraldine Cannon. Mr. Cannon got his college education at L.A. City College and later went to Northope Institute of Tec. in California. He eventually went into the Air Force and was also able to work as a civilian to get a job at North American Aircraft and Lockhead Aircraft as a helicopter mechanic. Honorably Discharged from the Military in 1963, LeAndrae Cannon started working for American Building Maintenance entry level position and worked his way up the corporate ladder to eventually become 1st African American Vice President and a contractor for the company. LeAndrae retired in the early 2000 and moved to Hessmer La. His favorite hobbies included golf, bowling, and traveling to see the world.
