Funeral services for Leanna Simone Spriggs of Simmesport will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 beginning at 11am at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church in Simmesport with Pastor Chris I. Augustine, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 beginning at 9am until 11am at the church. Burial will be at the Greater New Bethel Cemetery in Simmesport. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Leanna Simon Spriggs, age 89, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Bayou Chateau Nursing Home in Simmesport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus Simon & Laura Hayward Simon; husband, Charles Spriggs, Sr. sisters, Phebie Simon Jones, Pearl Simon Jones, Annie Mae Hunter, Virginia Braxton, Iantha Drummer, & Laura Simon; brothers, Nelse Simon & James Ryan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gwendolyn Hudson of Houston; son, Charles Spriggs, Jr. of Houston; four grandchildren: Damon Spriggs, Anthony Hudson, Nicole Hudson, & Nicholas Hudson; one great-grandchild, Brittany Spriggs.
