Services for Lee Joseph Thevenot of Cottonport will be at 1 p.m. on September 24, 2008 at St. Marys Assumption Catholic Church, Cottonport with Father Russel Lemoine officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Assumption Mausoleum in Cottonport under the direction of Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport. Lee Joseph Thevenot, 74, died in Cottonport on September 22, 2008. He was the Assesor of Avoyelles Parish for 16 years. He was a farmer, cattleman, businessman, an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of St. Marys Assumption Catholic Church, and former owner of Lees Night Club in Cottonport. He was preceded in death by father, Henry J. Thevenot, mother, Carrie Moreau Thevenot, and brother, Bert Thevenot. Survivors include three sons, Kemp D. Thevenot and Nicky J. Thevenot both of Cottonport and Skip S. Thevenot of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Carla T. Lemoine of Red Lodge, Montana, Brenda T. Juneau of Bunkie, Tamara T. Riche and Coralie T. Robert both of Cottonport; former wife, Joan Rozas Thevenot of Cottonport; aunt, Lily T. Couvillion of Cottonport; twenty two grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Visitation will be at Escude Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and re-open the following day Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Wake service will be September 23, 2008 at 1 p.m.
