Leon Lemoine

Leon P. Lemoine, age 69, of Moreauville, Louisiana, died at home on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:45 a.m.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Neda Plauche Lemoine father, Horace P. Lemoine sister, Patricia Dufour and brother, Michael J. Lemoine.
He is survived by his wife, Veatrice L. Lemoine his son, Michael J. Lemoine and wife Cynthia of Moreauville, and two daughters, Pamela Lemoine and husband Robert Blome of Houston, Texas, and Paula Gauthier and husband Brent of Moreauville. He is also survived by three brothers, Penn A. Lemoine and wife Jackie of Moreauville, Stanley J. Lemoine and wife Angela of Mansura, and Wayne T. Lemoine of Plaucheville, and two sisters, Mary L. Bonnette and Melissa Guillory, and four grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Joffrion, Lindsey Lemoine, and Anna Blome.
Leon was a building contractor working with his father since the late 1950s and later with other family members, continuing to work with his son until the early 2000s. He served as an usher with Sacred Heart Church and a Scout Leader. He was a very active member of his church and a great supporter of Sacred Heart School, having helped build the school with his father prior to attending it and sending his children there also.
He was a devoted family man who enjoyed taking vacations and camping with this family and spending time with his extended family during holidays. He loved to laugh and loved being around his children and grandchildren. He had a unique way of showing an interest in his loved ones that made each one feel special. He was very outgoing and was able to connect with people easily, always ready with a smile and little joke. His sunny outlook was an inspiration to those who knew him. He was also an avid Saints fan. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Friends may call at Escude Funeral Home, Moreauville on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., and Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
