Lester Babino

Funeral services for Lester Joseph Babino, Sr. are to be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 11:00am at St Paul Catholic Church of Mansura. Visitations also are held at the church beginning at 8:00am until time of the funeral. A rosary will be said before the funeral at 10:00am. Entombment will take place in the St Paul Catholic Mausoleum. Mr. Babino, age 81, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 6, 2009. He was a retired Longshoreman for the Local 3000, was employed with Cooper Stevedore Company for 42 years, and was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver and the Mansura Chamber of Commerce. He is preceded in death by his; parents, Isom Babino Florence Sampson Babino; sisters, Theresa Hudson, Cecilia Babino, Genevieve Babino. He is survived by his; wife, Ida A. Babino of Mansura, sons, Lyle Babino of Moreauville, Lester J. Babino, Jr. of Mansura, Lorenzo Babino of Mansura, Lavester Babino; daughters, Catrina Green of Mansura, Florensa Babino of Mansura, Angela Babino of Mansura, Della Heath of New Orleans; step-daughter, Joycelyn Burnette of Houston; brother, Johnell Babino of Mansura; sisters, Emma Steib of New Orleans, Leana Sampson of Mansura. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services and arrangements are under the directions of Escude Funeral Home.
