Funeral services for Linda Fay Blackman Jones of Rex, GA formerly of Alexandria will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 beginning at 11am at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Visitation will begin at 9am until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at St. James Baptist Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
On Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the age of 62, God whispered in Sis. Linda Fay Blackman Jones' ear and said, come on home my child.
She was born to Etta Rocio Blackman Burks and the late Leonard Blackman in Pineville, Louisiana on January 2, 1953.
Sis. Linda was baptized into the Christian Faith at an early age by the Reverend Parker of the Saint James Baptist Church in Bordelonville, Louisiana. She resided most of her adult life in Rex, GA where she was an active member of St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Eugene Jones for 35 years, and through that union a daughter, Gena Rene' was born. She was preceded in death by her father, and baby brother, Timothy Bernard Blackman.
Sis. Jones leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Eugene Jones; daughter Gena of Rex, GA; and her devoted mother, Etta Burks of Mansura, LA. Loving sisters: Sandra Blackman of Mansura, La., Gloria Baptiste of New Orleans, LA., Nora A. Jones of Eastman, GA, Brenda Bradley (Louis) of St. Landry, LA., and Darlene Q. Harris of Alexandria, LA. Nineteen nieces & nephews, Tony, Rondreka, Breonica, Cody, Jerry, Porsha, Crystal, Marcus, Tiffany, Jonnay, Lakeisha, Louis (Bubba), Glendolyn, Charmaine, Courtney, Charles, Tyrik, & Dallas, a host of great-nieces & nephews, and other relatives and friends.
