Louise Normand Neck of Mansura, LA peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sept. 16, 2016 at the age of 92. Louise was born in Huron, TN and was one of seven siblings. Upon graduation from high school she moved to Mobile, AL where she joined the war effort as an electrician. There she met and married Richard Normand, Sr., U.S. Coast Guard and moved to Mansura after the WWII. In 1954, she opened Louise's Beauty Shop where she worked for 62 years, providing a variety of services to generations of clients until March 2016. She was a lifetime member (50+ years) and past president of the Knight of Columbus Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, St. Paul's Alter Society and a member of the St. Paul's and St. Cecila's Choir. She was a kind and generous person and will be remembered for her homemade biscuits, which she cooked for countless family and friends. She loved to garden and taking care of her flowers and vegetable garden brought her much comfort and joy. She was a devout Catholic and always reminded her family that "God gave you two hands for a reason, one to help yourself and one to help others and that the things that matter most in our lives are not fantastic or grand, they are the moments when we touch one another, when we are there in the most attentive and caring way, when we love one another."
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Richard "Rick" Normand, Jr. and Sandra N. Terrebonne (Norman); one sister, Martha Blaine (Ed) and one brother, Romney "Buck" Myracle (Shirley). Eight grandchildren: Becky White (Roger), Garry "Bubba" LaBorde (Shannon), Jareth LaBorde (Krista), Kymberly Normand, Kyp Normand (Susan), Kelly Normand, Emily and Natalie Normand and seven great-grandchildren: Kelley Lucurto, Joey Lucurto, Ethan LaBorde, Ella LaBorde, Tanner Normand Kelly Christopher (KC), and Zack Arnouville. Never ending love and gratitude to Roger and Becky White for over three years of loving, compassionate care.
