Lynn E. Dufour, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Hessmer Nursing Home. Mr. Lynn growing up honed his craft in carpentry working alongside his father, constructing homes and leaving a lasting mark on the community with his skilled hands. His time spent tending his large home garden of cushaw, okra, tomatoes, and corn often sharing with family and friends his produce, as well as raising chickens and pigs, showcased his strong connection to the land and his commitment to providing for his loved ones. A proud Navy veteran, Lynn served his country with honor and courage, embodying the spirit of service in every aspect of his life. His dedication extended to his community, where he served as one of the first Moreauville volunteer firefighters, always ready to lend a helping hand in times of need. He found joy in the kitchen, particularly in baking cakes, cookies, and pies bringing smiles to the faces of his family and friends, but mostly because he enjoyed the sweets himself. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting squirrels, deer, and ducks. Spending time with his family meant the world to him. In addition to his many roles, Lynn spent almost 32 years driving school buses, ensuring the safety and well-being of countless children as they traveled to and from school.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Gayle R. Dufour; children: Charlotte Wasmer (Ken), Carla Mayeux (Shawn), Dwight Dufour (Erin), and Cherie Deshautelle (Mike); 8 grandchildren: Tiffany Lemoine, Gregory Lemoine, Mallory Smith, Morgan Hess, Madison Newton, Triston Mayeux, Zachary Deshautelle, and Amber Deshautelle; and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenny Dufour (Connie), Myrtle Rachel (Glenn), and Donna Gauthier.

Those honored to be pallbearers: Triston Mayeux, Gregory Lemoine, Zachary Deshautelle, Kenny Dufour, Mark Gaspard, Robert Lemoine; and cross bearer, Carter Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ryan Paul Dufour, Sr. & Irene Mayeaux Dufour; infant son, Jude Dufour; and brother, Ryan Dufour, Jr.
