Mae Mary Dopson Lemoine, a lifelong resident of Plaucheville, went home to her eternal reward on Saturday, January 21, 2012. She died at the home she loved on Lower Choupique surrounded by her children and grandchildren, she was 95. A devoted wife and mother, Mae was a great cook and a woman of strong faith who valued family and was always available for a chat over coffee and her famous homemade bread. Visitations will be from 5:00pm until 10:00pm at the Escud Funeral Home in Moreauville and will resume on Monday morning from 8:00am until 10:00am at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Reverend Scott Chemino, with entombment in the Church mausoleum. She is survived by one sister, Sara Dopson Cecil, and one brother, Cecil Dopson. She is also survived by her seven children, Patricia Louise, married to Stewart Rabalais of Plaucheville, Nettie Ann, married to A.J. Scardina of Greenwell Springs, LA, Norma Nell, married to Kenny Baker of Denham Springs, LA, Nathalie Mary, married to Lynn Scallan of Plaucheville, Franklin D. Lemoine, married to Shirley Manuel of Destrehan, LA, Errol Lemoine, married to Mary Grace Saucier of Baton Rouge, and Joseph Alexander Lemoine, III, married to Mary Jo Drouin, also of Plaucheville, 28 grandchildren, 56 greatgrandchildren and 6 greatgreatgrandchildren. She is preceded in death by her dear husband of 47 years, J. Alexander Lemoine, Jr., her parents, W.G. Dopson, Sr. and Norma Couvillon Dopson, two brothers, W.G. Dopson, Jr. and Gilbert Dopson and one sister, Shirley Dopson Barton. Mae will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
