Funeral services for Maejustia Carter of Houston will take place at the Antioch Baptist Church of Goudeau on Saturday, August 4, 2012, beginning at 11:00am. Visitations will also be held at the church Saturday morning, from 9:00am to 11:00am. Burial services will commence at the Antioch Baptist Cemetery.
Maejustia Carter, age 100, passed away at the Odyssey Hampton Hospice Center on Friday, July 27, 2012. She is preceded in death by her son, Joshua Hurst parents, Silah Virginia Copperture Hurst. She is survived by her children, Richard Carter, Max Jones, Ernest Jones, all of Houston, Vera Carter Brown of Cottonport, Beulah HurstBailey, Virginia Wells, Sarah Jefferson, Carolyn Vance, Mary Ann Jones, all of Houston. She is also survived by her fortyseven grandchildren, fiftythree greatgrandchildren, fiftyone greatgreatgrandchildren. Pallbearers for the service will include: Cornelious Jones, Jason Vance, Clifton Wells, Max Wayne Brown, Zachary Jefferson, Joseph Jefferson, Max Jones, Ernest Jones, Herman Vance, Racheal Carter, Edwin Jefferson, Sr., Edwin Jefferson, Jr., Lester Zeke Friels.
