Funeral services for Maggie L. Roy of New Sarpy formerly of Simmesport will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 beginning at 12:00pm at Christ the King Catholic Church of Simmesport. Visitation will also be held at the church on Monday, March 18, 2013 beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Christ the King Cemetery. Maggie L. Roy, age 83, passed away at her residence in Destrehan on Thursday, March 14, 2013. She is survived by her son Tommy Smith of Destrehan two grandchildren Dylan Smith and Raquel Smith Acker John, two greatgrandchildren Alyssa Acker Devin Acker. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Nina Barbin of Kenner two stepsons, Rodney Roy Garnett and Hansel Roy both of Kenner, stepdaughterinlaw Tela Roy, and numerous stepgrandchildren stepgreatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Silton P. Roy parents, Buford Eliza Lee, and three stepsons, Bobby Roy, Ronnie Roy, and Ralph Roy. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
