Funeral services for Marguerite Scallan Marcotte will take place at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Mansura on Thursday, June 2, 2011, beginning at 10:00am with Father Chad Partain officiating. Visitations will be held at the Escud Funeral Home of Mansura on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, from 5:00pm to 10:00pm and will reopen on Thursday morning at 8:00am. Burial services will commence at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Marguerite Marcotte, age 73, passed away at the Avoyelles Hospital on Monday, May 30, 2011. She was a member of the St. Pauls Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society. She was also a member of the Mansura Chamber of Commerce and the editor of the cook book Our Cajun Heritage for the Cochon de Lait. She is preceded in death by her parents, Blume Lydia Juneau Scallan. She is survived by her husband, Lamar R. Marcotte, Jr. of Mansura son, Gregory Marcotte of Mansura daughter, Cindy M. Gates of Baton Rouge brother, Francis Scallan of Pineville granddaughter, Jena Keenan of Ocala, FL.
