Marjorie Maddie

Marjorie Maddie, 88, of Simmesport was called home on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Bayou Chateau Nursing Center in Simmesport. Marjorie was born on September 16, 1926 in Simmesport, La. She was a lifelong resident of Simmesport, and faithful member of Christ the King Catholic Church, where she served as Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and member of the Altar Society.
Mrs. Maddie loved spending time with her family and friends, and always helping others. We will cherish her memories, and let them live on in our hearts.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Victor "Bill" Maddie; her mother & father, Luby & Lemmie Firmin, Sr.; three brothers, Lemmie Firmin, Jr. Wallace Firmin, & Lurry Adams; two sisters, Lena Jeansonne & Nelda Purpera; and son-in-law, Daniel Lemoine.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel "Danny" Maddie (wife Maggie) and Mark Maddie both of Denham Springs, La; one daughter, Victoria "Vicki" Lemoine of Moss Bluff, La; grandchildren: Judy Frazier, Garrett Lemoine and Miranda Stansifer; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Bernice Latino, Ruby Bacon, Madeline Elliott, Elaine Bacon, and Jean Carpenter.
Visitation will be at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport from 5pm until 9pm on Saturday, May 16, 2015, with rosary at 7pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8am Sunday morning.
Funeral service and mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Simmesport with Rev. Dwight DeJesus officiating. Burial will be in Christ the King Mausoleum under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
The family would like to specially thank all the staff at Bayou Chateau and All Saints Hospice for your love and support.
Safely home in Heaven, she is now at peace forever.
