Marvin Rabalais

Funeral services for Marvin Joseph Rabalais of Simmesport will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 beginning at 11am at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Simmesport with Fr. Dwight De Jesus officiating. Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014 beginning at 9am until 11am at the Escud Funeral Home of Simmesport. Entombment will be held in the Christ the King Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.

Marvin Rabalais, age 91, passed away at the Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He was a World War II Veteran and the owner of Marvins Barbershop and TV Repair for over 50 years. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Neva Normand Rabalais his parents, Charles Amiee Rabalais and his five brothers: Aaron Rabalais, Harvey Rabalais, Lance Rabalais, Merrill Rabalais, and Eulan Rabalais.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Dianne Jerry Rabalais Arbour of Baton Rouge, Larry Rabalais of Simmesport, Christine Les Rabalais Gueydan of Baton Rouge, and Lisa Rabalais of Walker. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Shane Rachal, Tommy Arbour, Misty Rachal, Todd Arbour, Christopher Rabalais, Lauren Perere, John Sachse, Mattie Sachse and six greatgrandchildren.
