Mary Nell Goux passed away peacefully , surrounded by her family at Riveire de Soliere Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the age of 84. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed dearly by all of the lives she touched. Mary was born September 15, 1931, the daughter of the late Turner A. and Volice Scallan. She was united in marriage to her beloved late husband, E.J.Goux, Jr., for 50 years. Mary was also preceded in death by her sister Theresa Schexnyder. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic minister and former member of the parish council. Her husband EJ's career gave them the opportunity to travel the world. Their family lived in Cario, Egypt, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Jakarta, Indonesia. Mary and E.J. retired to Mansura where she enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Being the gracious host that she was, all who gravitated to her home felt special. She had a loving and generous heart, always giving of her time to others. She leaves her loving memories to cherish by her children , L. Rene' Goux(Vickie), Mary Nell Tassin(Ronald), and Claire "Tokie" Goux. Our mother was a friend when you needed a friend and a mother when you needed a mother. Mary was "Granny" to seven grandchildren, Jason Goux(Lori), Brandy Moras(Keith), Tiffany Goux Morrow, Brooke Bordelon(Joe), Sloane Goux Ory(Mathew), Tate Tassin(Tammy), and Jon Goux(Kristine). Ten great-grandchildren, Brittany Gaspard, MacKenzie Bordelon, Lexi Broussard, Jacob Bordelon, Ava-Grace Bordelon, Jackson Bordelon,Tyson Bonton, Renny Goux, Anabelle Ory and Adleigh Kae Ory. Three step great- grandchildren, Mia Davis, Luke Moras, and Keith Allen Moras. She is also survived by a loving sister, Helen Sasser and nieces and nephews with whom she had a loving relationship . The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Howard Wold, Dr. Warren Plauche,Dr. L.J. Mayeaux and Julianne Ducote, N.P. A very special thanks to the staff at Riveirie Soliere whose love and care for Mary will always be appreciated. You are the most special of care givers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Mansura, La. Visitation at Escude's Funeral Home, Mansura, La. From 9 a.m. to time of funeral. Interment will be at St. Paul's Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the charity of your choice.
