Funeral services for Mary Scallan of Cottonport will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Plaucheville on Monday, December 12, 2011, beginning at 10:00am. Visitations will be held at the Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport on Sunday, December 11, 2011, from 5:00pm to 7:30pm and will resume at 8:00am Monday morning. Burial services will commence at the Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum.
Mary Scallan, age 85, passed away at the Hessmer Nursing Home on Saturday, December 10, 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Scallan, Sr. son, Jeffrey Scallan parents, Herbert Virby Jeansonne Brassette sister, Ella Louise Teeny Plauche. She is survived by her children, Yvette Sprague husband John of Cypress, TX, Don Scallan, Jr., David Scallan fianc Myrna Descant of Houston, TX, OKeefe Scallan wife Dana of Dallas, TX brother, Truitt Brassette wife Mercedes of Mansura brotherinlaw, Gerard T. Scallan of Baton Rouge sisterinlaw, Sylvia Cottano of Simmesport. She is also survived by nine grandchildren four greatgrandchildren.
