Mathilde Chatelain

Mathilde Chatelain, died Feb. 13 in Masura. Age 93. Born on Aug. 17, 1912 in Mansura, La. She was a longtime resident of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish who was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Chatelain. Survived by five children, Eddie Chatelain, Jesse Chatelain, Ned Chatelain, Flora Chatelain McGittigan and Davis Chatelain, all of the New Orleans area. She was the mother-in-law of Iola Chatelain, Lovadee Chatelain, Ann Chatelain and Jerry McGittigan. Also survived by 10 grand children, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday Feb. 18 at Escude Funeral Home, 1904 LEglise St., Mansura. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. , followed by sevices in the Escude chapel. Burial will be in St. Pauls Cemetery.
