Matthew Barton

Funeral services for Matthew Barton of Marksville will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 beginning at 10am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville. Visitation will be held that morning also at the church from 8am until the time of service. Burial will commence in the Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Matthew Barton, age 54, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Avoyelles Hospital.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bridgette Carmouche Barton of Marksville; daughters, Shanika Barton of Mansura, Karlee Bryant of Arkansas; sons, Jamares Barton, Sr. of Marksville, Shay Manual of Atlanta; parents, Hamilton & Marie Sampson Barton of Marksville; sisters, Gail (Carl) Harvey of Marksville, Regina (Terrence) Cobb of Lakeland, FL, Charlene (Ron) Cook of Flower Mound, TX, Patricia Barton and Elaine Barton both of Baton Rouge and one brother, Craig Barton of Oakland, CA. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Ja'nylah Williams, Jamarion Barton, Jamares Barton, Jr., Alise Guillot, Riley Mills, special goddaughter, Cheri Harvey Pearson and a host of nieces and nephews.
