Funeral services for Melvin J. Dauzat residence of LaPlace formerly of Hessmer will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 beginning at 11:30am at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Visitation will be held at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura beginning at 9am until the time of service on Monday, June 6, 2016. Burial will be held at the Lighthouse Baptist Cemetery in Belledeau.
Melvin J. Dauzat, age 80, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home in LaPlace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo P. & Beulah Dauzat; wife, Esther Roy Dauzat; son, Don J. Dauzat; and brother, Nolan Dauzat.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Robert J. Dauzat of LaPlace; daughter, Kathy Alack of Merrimack, NH; daughter-in-law, Jody Dauzat of Marrero; brothers, Steven Dauzat of Belledeau and Even Dauzat of Marrero. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Bobby Dauzat, David Dauzat, Craig Dauzat, Courtney Dauzat, Christopher Alack, Jessica Alack, Jason Alack, & Jonathan Alack.
