Funeral services for Mevelyn Comeaux of Hessmer will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer beginning at 11am with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Escude Funeral Home of Mansura beginning at 5pm and will continue all night until the time of service on Saturday. Burial will commence in the St. Alponsus Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Mevelyn Comeaux, age 78, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Hessmer Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Comeaux; parents, Bennette & Irma Mills Sr.; sister, Jennie Fruge; brothers, Ludger Mills, Bennette Mills Jr.; grandson, Steve Bardwell Jr.; great-grandsons, Ty Noah Rabalais and Everette Scallan.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Beverly Rabalais of Hessmer, Judy Cooper of Cottonport; sons, Henry Goudeau Sr. of Marksville, Lansing Joe Goudeau of Simmesport; brothers, Roy Mills of New Orleans, Ray Mills of Hessmer. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
