Graveside services for Michael Wayne Jeansonne, Sr. of Hessmer will begin at 11:00am on Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Hessmer with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez officiating.

Michael Jeansonne, age 55, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at his home in Hessmer. Everyone that knew him well, called him “Brother-in-law.” He worked for the Allen Canning Company in Belledeau for 15 years and Mac’s Building Supply in Hessmer for 15 years. Michael had a love for raising all sorts of animals. If you smelled some smoke down the road, he probably had some sausage, tasso, or chicken in his smoke house with his special seasonings. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Michael also enjoyed listening to music.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Michael Jeansonne, Jr. (Vanessa), Jonathan Jeansonne, Eric Jeansonne (Teri), & Angela Jeansonne (Joseph); mother of his children, Tina; his siblings: Jessica Jeansonne (Amos), Jacklynn Wiley (Tim), Dale Jeansonne, Kenneth Jeansonne (Cathy), Lionel Jeansonne (Phyllis), Gary Jeansonne (Patricia), Patrick Jeansonne (Miraflor); sister-in-law, Vicky Jeansonne. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Bianca, Ian, Trey, Hailey, Maci, Naomi, Alyssa, Adlyn, Bellamy, & Ava. His longtime best friend was Kevin Ducote.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald & Mary Alice Jeansonne; brothers, Ricky Jeansonne and Gregory Jeansonne; sister-in-law, Theresa Jeansonne; brother-in-law, Michael Turner; nephew, Gregory Jeansonne.

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 12:00am on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Visitation will resume at 8:00am until 10:30am on Friday, May 21, 2021.
