Funeral service for Michael Joseph Jones of Marksville will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Little Zion Baptist Church in Long Bridge with Pastor Vernon Simon officiating. Burial will follow at Little Zion Baptist Cemetery.

Michael Joseph Jones, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Valley View Nursing Home. Michael lived a fulfilling life, with his family being his top priority. His grandchildren brought him immense pride and happiness. He loved spending time outdoors and had a passion for cooking.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Mildred Jones; children, Michael Lavalais (Tammy), Rondell Jones (Heather), Markell Jones (Valenca), Camilla Jones, Dedrick Jones; brothers, Tommy Jones, John Jones, Jean Jones, and James Jones. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, Jarred, Denna, Mya, Kedra, Hailey, Rondell, Jr., Tyjaney, Justin, Penelope, Gabriel, Markell, Jr., Kajena, Laquisha, Tyrone, Tykalon, Tayron, Camyra, Dedrick, Jr. Riley, and Kayden; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Adine Ford Jones; siblings, Theresa Ann Barbin, Virginia Barton, Frankie Pierite, and Louis Pierite.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Little Zion Baptist Church in Long Bridge.
