Nelda Couvillion

Funeral services for Nelda Couvillion of Kentwood, former resident of Plaucheville, will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Plaucheville on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 beginning at 11:30am with Fr. Keith Ishmael officiating. Visitation will also take place at the church that day beginning at 10:00am. Burial will commence at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Mausoleum.
Nelda Couvillion, age 84, passed away at the Tangi Pines Nursing Home in Amite. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lurry Couvillion; son, Alton Couvillion; and parents, Edwin & Anita Mayeaux; sister, Berdine Lacour; brother, Bernard Mayeaux. She is survived by her children, Ruth Jacob (Fredrick, Jr.) of Metairie & Lelia Rizzutto (Joe); sisters, Gloria Lacour of Plaucheville & Audrey Mae Marks of Plaucheville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jason Couvillion (Jena), Amy Hemphill (Tony Breseman), Holly McGee, Fredrick Jacob, III, Kristy Barcia (Jared), & Rodney Moorman, Jr.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
