Funeral Mass for Nellie Jacobs will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville. Burial will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
Nellie Jacobs, age 74, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Charles Jacobs; children, Cheanell Lucas (James), Patricia Jacobs, Sandalon Jacobs (Angelica), Mario Jacobs, Casey Jacobs (Tony); step-daughter, Bertha Lavalais (Daniel); 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Florence Lavalais; brothers, Anthony Lavalais Sr., Landry Joseph, John Lavalais, Joseph Lavalais, Phillip Lavalais, Gerard “Billy” Lavalais, and Edward Charles Lavalais; sisters, Theresa Day and Martha Ann Jenkins.
Visitation will begin at 8:00 am to 9:30 am on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. The rosary prayer will be at 8:30 am.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home (318-964-2324), 6608 Porterie Street Mansura, LA 71350.
