Nellie Veade

Funeral services for Nellie Mae Veade of Plaucheville will take place at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Plaucheville on Monday, July 23rd, 2018 beginning at 11:30am with Fr. Martin Laird officiating the mass. Visitation will take place at the Escude Funeral Home of Moreauville that Monday morning from 8:00am to 11:00am. Burial will commence at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Cemetery. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Nellie Mae, age 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Avoyelles Manor Nursing Home. Known to everyone as Aunt Nellie, she always had a special place in her heart for each family member. She lived her life as a home maker and worked as a nursing aide at the Avoyelles Manor Nursing Home until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harris Veade; parents, Avit & Aline Mayeaux; and her 10 siblings. She is survived by her sons, Michael Veade (Cathy), Thomas Veade (Deborah), Rodney Veade (Lynn), all of Plaucheville, & Eddie Veade (Debra) of Hamburg; her six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Jamie Veade, Brady Veade, Ashton Veade, Derek Veade, Chris Veade, Billy Vosbien.
