Nita Normand

Funeral Mass for Nita Normand of Bordelonville will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Church of Bordelonville on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Louis Sklar officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Peter Catholic Mausoleum.

Nita Normand, age 99, passed away at the Bayou Chateau Nursing Home of Simmesport on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021.

Before moving to Bayou Chateau Nursing Home, Nita was a fixture in the Bordelonville community. She was known for her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls that were enjoyed by everyone visiting her home. She was a devoted wife and mother. She maintained a positive attitude throughout her life despite the lost of her two children and her two husbands.

Those left to cherish her memory are her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her children, Richard Desselle and Colleen Desselle; parents, Clifton and Corine Coco Bordelon; her 1st husband, Leoland Desselle; her 2nd husband, Robert “Bob” Normand. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Sidmore, Julius, Clifton, James, Charles, and Hugh; sisters, Marjorie Dupuy and Lou Sarrazin.

Visitation will begin at 8:00am on Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 at the St. Peter Catholic Church Hall.
