Octavia "Tavia" Villemarette

Funeral Mass for Octavia “Tavia” Villemarette of Hessmer will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer with Fr. Kenneth Michiels officiating. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Octavia Villemarette, age 85, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025, at her residence in Hessmer.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Connie (Kenny) Dufour of Moreauville; sons, Bruce (Debra) Villemarette of Hessmer and Andre (Tina) Villemarette of Hessmer; five grandchildren: Jeremy (Laura) Dufour, Andrew Dufour, Devin Villemarette, Olivia (Kenneth) Gremillion, and Emily Villemarette; three great-grandchildren: Gabe Dufour, Kaleb Dufour, and Paisley Villemarette.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Jeremy Dufour, Andrew Dufour, Kenny Dufour, Devin Villemarette, Gabe Dufour, and Kenneth Gremillion; crossbearer, Olivia Gremillion; and reader, Debra Villemarette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Villemarette; son, Brent Villemarette; parents, Joseph and Eunice Juneau Ducote; siblings, Julia Smith, Houston Ducote, and Ella Mae Bordelon.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am until 10:30am on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
