Paul Batiste

Funeral services for Paul "Cheese" Stanley Batiste of Mansura will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 beginning at 11am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Martin Laird officiating. Visitation will be held that morning beginning at 9am until the time of service at Escude Funeral Home of Mansura with Rosary Prayer Service held at 10am. Interment will commence at the St. Paul Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Paul Stanley Batiste, age 59, passed away on December 21, 2015 at Hilltop Nursing & Rehab Center in Pineville. Paul was born on August 14, 1956 in Mansura to the late Rufus, Sr. & Mary Zelphia Batiste. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Charlene Brown Batiste on April 16, 1983; to this union three children were born: Stanley Batiste, Marva Batiste and Keren Batiste. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus, Sr. & Mary Hollis Batiste; brothers, Richard Batiste, Davis Hollis & Rufus Batiste, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Marva Batiste and Keren Batiste both of Mansura; son, Stanley Batiste of Lake Charles; friend, Charlene Batiste of Mansura; sisters, Effie Hollis James of Hessmer, Rose Lavalais and Elizabeth Batiste both of New Orleans; three grandchildren, Rachelle Laird, Staci Batiste, & Bailee Batiste; one great-grandchild, Dontrail Sampson, Jr.; one godchild, John Boyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Eugene Perry, Thomas Augustine, Anthony Francisco, Lawarnce Sampson, Julian Kent James, Michael Lavalais and honorary pallbearers will be: Stanley Batiste, Blaine Hollis, John Boyer, Joseph Murray, Flemon Jones, Jr., Alexis James, & Dorian Campbell.
