Funeral services for Peter Blake Wilkes of Marksville will take place on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Marksville, beginning at 10:00am, with Fr. Abraham Varghese officiating. Visitations will be held at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura, prior to the funeral services, beginning at 8:00am. A wake service will be held at 8:30am Tuesday morning, and burial services will commence at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery 2.
Mr. Peter Wilkes, age 83, passed away at the Bayou Chateau Nursing Center on Sunday, October 17, 2010. Mr. Wilkes was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He is preceded in death by his parents, Enick Adeline Lemoine Wilkes. He is survived by his wife, Verdie Mae Wilkes of Marksville sons, Kenneth Wilkes of Marksville, Michael Wilkes of Marksville brother, John Wilkes of Hamburg. He is also survived by his three grandchildren four greatgrandchildren.
