Philip Coco

Funeral services for Philip Joseph Coco, of Moreauville, will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 beginning at 11am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Moreauville with Fr. Marc Noel officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 beginning at 8am until 11am at the Escud Funeral Home of Moreauville. Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Moreauville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
Mr. Philip J. Coco, age 80, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juliana P. Coco, his parents Arthur Anna Mae Coco and his brothers, Raymond Coco and James TBoy Coco.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lucy M. Coco of Moreauville his son, Todd Brenda Coco of Moreauville his grandson, Justin Coco and granddaughter, Candyce Coco of Moreauville and numerous nieces and nephews. Those honored to serve as pallbearers were: John Coco, Joey Coco, Justin Coco, Marc Prevost, Jason Bordelon, and Clay Russell.
Mr. Coco attended USL and received a masters degree from LSU in Educational Administration and Guidance and Counseling. He was then drafted and served in service in Puerto Rico for two years. He then taught at Simmesport High School for a few years before being asked to be the State Director of Guidance and Counseling in Baton Rouge. After six years, he was awarded Principal of Simmesport High School for ten years. He left Principalship to become the Avoyelles Parish Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance. He retired in 1989.
