Piltrice Holmes

Funeral service for Piltrice Silton Holmes, Sr. age 96, will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 beginning at 10am at the Our Lady of Prompt Succor of Mansura with Fr. Martin Laird officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 beginning at 5pm until 10pm at the Escud Funeral Home of Mansura and will continue the following morning at 8am. Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
Piltrice Silton Holmes, Sr. from Mansura, La., passed away at Avoyelles Parish Hospital in Marksville, La. on Tuesday, December 4, 2013. He was a World War II highly awarded and decorated soldier while doing his tour of duty in the United States Army a lifelong member of the Knights of Peter Claver.
He was preceded in death by two children Charles Holmes Margaret Heard parents, Cornelious Majestie Holmes siblings: Lucas Holmes, Bryant Holmes, Ellis Holmes, Martha Holmes, Germaine Holmes, Madeline Pryor, Beauty Nell Sampson, Gerard Holmes, Madeline Holmes, Abby Holmes, Theodore Holmes.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Hazel Holmes his brothers Gene Holmes, Rodney Holmes and sisters Patricia Brooks, and Waver St. Romain. His three children, his son, Piltrice Micheal Holmes, Jr. and daughters, Caroline Holmes and Priscillia Holmes grandchildern Dwayne Holmes, Sr., Qiana Holmes, George Heard, Paul Heard, Micheal Keith Holmes, Jr., Tracy Holmes, Kent Harper, Marcella Holmes, Lynetta Holmes, Kenyell Dixon, several greatgrandchildren, and host of family and friends.
