Funeral services for Raphael Augustine will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura, LA. Burial will take place in the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2015 in Escude' Funeral Home of Mansura.
Raphael Augustine was born in Mansura, LA on December 20, 1922. He went to be with the Lord at 4:47 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Hessmer Nursing Home. He leaves to cherish memories of love and devotion, wife, Mae Rita Walter Augustine of Mansura, three daughters, Priscilla (Wilbert) Wilson of Orlando, FL, Thelma Maxine Edwards of Hessmer and Bridget (Anthony) Stone of Midland, Michigan; four sons, Raphael Augustine, Jr. of Mansura, Donald Wendell (Rita) Augustine of Baton Rouge, Joseph Gabriel (Tamara) Augustine of Woodworth and Sherman (Barbara) Augustine of Cottonport; three sisters, Eunice (Benson) Washington of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Edna Murray and Theresa Johnson both of Mansura; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Augustine of Marksville; 15 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Modella Augustine, Sr. and Louise James Augustine; three sisters Louanna Benjamin, Clara Sampson and Ruby Francis; three brothersHerman Augustine, Modella Augustine , Jr. and Joseph Lones Augustine and one granddaughter, Karisha Haggar.
