Raymond J. Desselle, age 89, of Bordelonville, passed away at Oak Haven Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired Exxon gas deliverer for Avoyelles parish, farmer, and a master at cooking and carving a roast pig. He is survived by his son, Bruce Desselle of Houma, daughter, Pam Lemoine and husband Michael of Baton Rouge, and daughter Vickie Dufour and husband Raymond of Moreauville, a sister, Ramona Laborde of Sulphur and a brother, Ray Desselle of Sulphur. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren twelve greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta TaToo Desselle son, Ted Desselle parents, Henry Aline Desselle and a brother, Daniel Desselle.
Visitation will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church Hall of Bordelonville on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm and will resume on Saturday morning at 8:00am. Funeral services will take place at the St. Peters Catholic Church of Bordelonville on Saturday, January 18, 2014 beginning at 11:00am with Msgr. Steve Testa officiating. Burial services will commence at the St. Peters Catholic Mausoleum.
