Richard Tassin

Funeral services for Richard P. Tassin will be held at 12 noon, Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mansura with Father Chad Partain officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Interment will be held at St. Paul Catholic Mausoleum, Mansura. Arrangements are held under the direction of Escude Funeral Home of Mansura.
Richard P. Tassin, age 87, of Mansura, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at his residence.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII as a technician for the 346th Signal Company. He was also in the grocery store business for many years. He owned and operated the Bargainette Food Store in Mansura. He was a member of the American Legion for 60 years and served as an usher at St. Paul Catholic Church for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Voorhies and Mathilda Tassin and one sister, Nora Laborde.
Survivors include his wife, Ily Yennie Tassin of Mansura who has also been his caretaker these past two years two sons, Ronald P. Tassin Nell and Donald P. Tassin Annette and daughter, Sandra Swindler Howard, all of Mansura seven grandchildren and ten greatgrandchildren.
Richard will be remembered for his generosity and his wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew him.
