Heaven and earth rejoiced when Robert Lee Dixon, Sr. was born to Zennie B Dixon of Mansura and the late Walter Williams Jr. on January 22, 1961. Our heavenly father, according to his
ine plan, so willed time that at 12:48 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Meadowview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Minden, La, and the destiny for Rusty was fulfilled. He was married to Clara Elair. His early childhood as well as most of his high school education was obtained from UPC High School where he and his family felt that he was led by some of the best educators in this country. Later, his family moved to Mansura in his senior year. He was a 1979 graduate of Mansura High School. He later attended the Avoyelles parish vo-tech in Cottonport where he became a certified welder. Services were held at the Zion Travelers Baptist Church on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11:00a.m. Officiating clergy was Pastor Rev. Lee Gage. He leaves to mourn his departure yet cherishing precious memories, his mother, Zennie B Dixon of Mansura, one son , Robert Lee Dixon, Jr. of Lafayette, one daughter, Wanice Dixon of Lafayette, one grand- daughter, Coshane Dixon of Lafayette, three sisters, Dora Carter Eugene of Avondale, Eva Kent Ray of Houston and Shirley Bennett Thomas of Mansura, three brothers Thomas Dixon and Jessie Bibbins Barbara of Mansura, David Bibbins of Baton Rouge, a special friend Shirley Porterie of Marksville, brother-in-law, Manuel Murray of Alexandria, and several aunts and uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, Carrie and Albert Bibbins Walter Williams Sr and Emily Clark Ambo, his father Walter Williams Jr., one sister, Edna m Murray, several aunts and uncles.
