Robert Guidry

Robert Lee Guidry, age 79, of Plaucheville passed away at the Bayou Chateau Nursing Home on Monday, August 29, 2011. He was born in Arnaudville, LA on December 16, 1931 to Regis Bertile C. Guidry.
Robert will be remembered as a loving husband and father. He spent his working life in the oilfields of south Louisiana. He was a devoted Catholic, a talented musician, he made friends easily with an easy laugh, always had a joke to tell, and was proud of his south Louisiana heritage.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Guidry, Glen Guidry, Gene Guidry parents, Regis Bertile Guidry.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years Birdie Mallet Guidry daughters, Roxanna Honea and husband Bill of Dupont, Rachael Gauthier of Pineville, Monica Plauche and husband Warren of Plaucheville, Yvette Jeansonne and husband Dale of Tennessee, Dawn Guidry and husband Blane of Dupont twentythree grandchildren nineteen greatgrandchildren sister, Elsie Jane Durio of Arnaudville, LA.
Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dupont on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 11:00am with Rev. George Krosfield officiating, with burial services commencing in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
